Frequently asked questions

Why won't my camera turn on?

Your browser will prompt for camera permission the first time — if you previously denied it, you'll need to allow camera access for this site in your browser's site settings. Camera scanning also requires a secure context (HTTPS or localhost).

Why didn't it detect the QR code in my image?

Decoding works best with a clear, reasonably high-contrast, unobstructed code — try cropping the image tighter around just the QR code, or improving lighting/focus if it was a photo.

Is the decoded content executed or opened automatically?

No — the raw decoded text is just displayed. If it looks like a URL, an "Open link" button appears so you can choose to visit it, but nothing happens automatically.
