- What if two people split one item, like an appetizer?
- Check both of their boxes on that item's row — its cost is divided evenly among everyone checked for that specific item.
- How is tax/tip divided if people ordered different amounts?
- Proportionally — someone whose items make up 40% of the pre-tax subtotal pays 40% of the total tax and tip, not an equal split. This matches how tax actually works on an itemized receipt.
- What if an item isn't assigned to anyone?
- It's left out of everyone's total — make sure every item has at least one person checked, or its cost won't be counted at all.
