- How do I find the pre-tax price from a receipt total?
- Switch to "Remove tax from total", enter the total you paid and the tax rate, and the calculator works out the original price and the tax portion.
- What tax rate should I use?
- Use your local combined sales tax rate (state plus any local/city tax where applicable, or your country's VAT/GST rate) — this tool doesn't look up rates automatically.
- Does this handle negative prices?
- No — enter a positive price; negative or zero values are treated as invalid input.
