HEIC to JPG Converter
Convert iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos to JPG, right in your browser.
About this tool
Converts iPhone/iPad HEIC (or HEIF) photos to regular JPG files, entirely in your browser — no app, no re-uploading your photos to someone else's server. As soon as you select files, a thumbnail of each original photo appears so you can confirm you picked the right ones — adjust JPEG quality if needed, then convert; each result adds a second "converted" thumbnail and its own download link, plus a "Download all" shortcut and a "Clear all" to start over.
HEIC is the default photo format on modern iPhones — great for storage space, but not viewable in most non-Apple software or when uploading to sites that don't support it yet. This tool decodes it with an in-browser WebAssembly build of libheif and re-encodes it as a standard JPG.
Frequently asked questions
- Why did conversion take a while / fail on a large file?
- HEIC decoding is CPU-intensive and runs entirely on your device — very large files (from newer high-resolution iPhone cameras) or converting many files at once can take a noticeable moment. If a specific file fails, try converting it on its own.
- Does this preserve photo quality?
- The JPEG quality slider controls the compression trade-off on the way out, same as any JPEG export — higher keeps more detail at a larger file size. Note that metadata (like the original capture date or GPS location) is not carried over to the JPG.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No — decoding and re-encoding both happen locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to any server.
