About this tool
Work out your running pace from a distance and a time, predict a finish time from a target pace, or find how far you'd go in a set time at a given pace. Switch between kilometres and miles, use the race-distance shortcuts for 5K, 10K, half and full marathon, and read a per-unit split table for the whole distance. All calculations run in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between pace and speed?
- Pace is time per distance (for example 5:00 per km); speed is distance per time (12 km/h). The result panel shows both.
- Does the split table account for slowing down?
- No — it assumes an even effort and divides the time equally. Real races usually have some positive or negative split; treat the table as a target, not a prediction.
- How do I convert a treadmill speed to pace?
- Enter a distance of 1 (km or mile) and a time equal to 60 minutes divided by the treadmill speed, or just solve for pace with any distance and its matching time.
