Frequently asked questions
- What counts as a "small word" that gets skipped?
- Common short filler words like "a", "an", "the", "of", "and", "or", "in", "on" — these are typically left out of an acronym since they don't carry meaning on their own (e.g. "Officer in Charge" → "OIC", not "OIC" including "in"). Turn the option off to include every word instead.
- Does this find the meaning of an existing acronym?
- No — this only builds a new acronym from a phrase you type. There's no dictionary lookup for what an existing acronym stands for.
